Aragorn is a fictional character from J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy novels, most notably The Lord of the Rings. He is not a character in The Hobbit.

Aragorn first appears by name in The Fellowship of the Ring, the first volume of The Lord of the Rings, under the alias "Strider". He is presented as a Ranger of the North, a member of a dwindling group dedicated to protecting the Shire.

Aragorn is revealed to be the heir of Isildur, the last High King of Gondor, making him the rightful claimant to the thrones of both Gondor and Arnor. He possesses exceptional skill in swordsmanship and tracking, alongside wisdom and a strong sense of justice.
